To some people, it's not a secret that Anthony Hopkins holds a secret passion to music, but it becomes new when he unveils a plan to embark on a major world tour to showcase his talent in piano playing.

The prominent actor is mapping out a plan to tour around the world in a series of concerts that will kick off in Melbourne, Australia. He will play his own compositions and accompanied by an orchestra with stories on his career anecdotes narrated over the music.

"Playing the piano is my one abiding passion," said Hopkins. He owns a Bosendorfer piano that once belonged to Frank Sinatra. This wouldn't be his first venture in music for he released a single called 'Distant Star' in 1986 that peaked at #75 on U.K. Singles chart.

Hopkins will work with British composer Malcolm Luker for this project. "I think people will be surprised by (Anthony's) talents," Luker said. "He's a great pianist and an incredibly pleasant and softly spoken man. It's going to happen either next year or early 2009 but at the moment we're doing the preliminaries of checking timing, availability and venues."
