Already cast its spell toward the audience during its first two-day run, Walt Disney Pictures' "Enchanted" finally comes out as expected in being the No.1 movie on the North American box office over Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

The fairy-tale romantic comedy hit the coveted position with an amazing $49.1 million for its five-day performance from November 21-25, 2007, way far above the $26.3 million its closest competitor and fellow new release "This Christmas" has drawn in.

Last-week top holder "Beowulf", in the meantime, got thrown to number three after failing to fare higher than $23.6 million in its second spin on the chart. Behind the motion capture epic were another newcomer "Hitman" and CGI animated "Bee Movie" which managed to pull in respective income of $21.1 million and $15.8 million to round out the big five of the list.

The sixth position went to Warner Bros. Pictures release "Fred Claus" for its good effort to add another $14.9 million into its pocket. Two other rookies namely "August Rush" and "The Mist" popped up next, the former collecting $13.2 million while the latter scoring slightly less at $12.9 million.

Claiming number nine was Ridley Scott-directed "American Gangster" that still did fairly well in the competition by taking in $12.5 million to add its total gross to $115.55 million so far. Fox-Walden's fantasy feature "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" followed behind with a modest income of $10.8 million.
