The famed filmmaker still expressed his enthusiasm to be "Hobbit" director while informing that Sony is meeting various scribes to construct "Spider-Man 4" story.

Long been associated with two big film titles of "The Hobbit" and "Spider-Man 4", renowned filmmaker Sam Raimi openly voiced out his thoughts on the former project while giving a bit info on the latter one.
As reported by ComingSoon.net during the press conference for "30 Days of Night" which he produces alongside Robert G. Tapert, Raimi expressed his willingness to continue backing up "The Hobbit" though he did consider Peter Jackson to be the best choice as the flick's helmer.
"...I hear [New Line and Jackson are] talking, too, from what I read in the trades, I don't really know first hand, hopefully he will direct it and give us his great version of it," so he remarked. "If he doesn't direct it and decides to produce it, I'd love to be considered as the director."
As for "Spider-Man 4", Raimi, according to Superhero Hype!, eagerly revealed that Sony Pictures as the film rights holder to the "Spider-Man" series is now engaged in meetings with different screenwriters to "try and bring a fresh new story and approach" to the franchise.
"I've been in meetings with Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin, the producers, and Amy Pascal," the man said. "Different writers have been coming in and spinning different tales of where 'Spider-Man' can go from here."
