Cautious about causing offense ever since Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction and wanted to ensure family entertainment at the game, producers of the Super Bowl have to reluctantly censor The Rolling Stones' two sexually explicit lyrics.
"The Rolling Stones were aware of our plan which was to simply lower the volume on his microphone at those two appropriate moments," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy explained. "We had agreed to that plan earlier in the week. The Stones were aware of it and they were fine with it."
In fact, the act has prompted various responses. As of Stones, they tend to call it as "absolutely ridiculous and completely unnecessary." The band's spokesperson Fran Curtis said that Stones might have known about the censorship, but that doesn't mean they like it.
