During the dark days of the Belfast Blitz in World War II, a group of children embark on a daring and secret mission to save a young elephant named Buster from a government-ordered cull. Led by the determined and resourceful Tom, played by Art Parkinson, and aided by his friends and a compassionate zookeeper portrayed by Toby Jones, they must navigate the perils of a city under siege. With the help of Tom’s protective sister, Penelope Wilton, and other wary adults including Ian McElhinney, they devise a plan to hide the gentle giant, risking their own safety against the backdrop of nightly bombings. This heartwarming family film, directed by Colin McIvor, blends historical drama with a tale of courage and compassion, illustrating how even in the midst of war, the bond between humans and animals can inspire extraordinary acts of bravery.
