In the eerie, stop-motion world crafted by director Henry Selick, a teenage girl named Kat Elliot carries a heavy burden of guilt and grief. Her life takes a bizarre turn when she discovers she is a "hellmaiden," with a strange connection to two scheming demon brothers, Wendell and Wild, voiced with chaotic charm by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele. These mischievous entities see Kat as their ticket to escaping the underworld and building their dream amusement park in the land of the living. Kat, however, has her own desperate motivation: a chance to resurrect her deceased parents. This darkly comedic adventure pits Kat, with the help of a no-nonsense nun named Sister Helley (Angela Bassett), against monstrous forces and a sinister corporate plot threatening her crumbling hometown. Blending gothic fantasy with heartfelt themes of redemption, the film follows Kat's perilous journey as she navigates a pact with these devilish brothers, learning that confronting the demons of her past may be the only way to save her future.
