In the animated comedy "Tangles," the everyday chaos of family life takes a hilariously absurd turn when a magical mishap literally knots together the lives of the eccentric Patterson family. Directed by Leah Nelson, the film centers on the perpetually frazzled matriarch, voiced by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, whose well-intentioned attempt to solve a domestic crisis accidentally binds her, her rebellious teenage daughter (Abbi Jacobson), and her grumpy, retired father-in-law (Bryan Cranston) by a single, unbreakable, and ever-growing knot of hair. Now physically tethered to one another, this trio of strong-willed individuals must navigate a series of wildly funny and increasingly desperate situations, from a disastrous school talent show to a chaotic trip to the grocery store, all while trying to find a way to untangle themselves. With a voice cast that also includes Samira Wiley, Beanie Feldstein, Seth Rogen, Wanda Sykes, Bowen Yang, Pamela Adlon, and Sarah Silverman, "Tangles" is a vibrant and heartwarming exploration of the messy, unbreakable bonds that define family, proving that sometimes the best connections are the ones you can't escape.
