A comedy-drama about a struggling British theater director, Turner Longfellow, who is forced to hire an entitled young Hollywood action star in order to guarantee an audience for the Anton Chekhov play he is mounting. Longfellow and the young star immediately clash over the production and the creative process, but with the help of an experienced ensemble, they put aside their differences and produce a rendition of 'The Seagull' that enthralls modern audiences and Chekhov fans alike.
