Returner
WHO CARES ABOUT THE FUTURE? The "Returner", Miyamoto (Takeshi Kaneshiro), acting on tip-offs from his clients, infilt...
In the riotously funny 1984 comedy Police Academy, directed by Hugh Wilson, a new mayor's edict forces the city's police department to accept all willing recruits, leading to a hilariously chaotic influx of unconventional cadets. Among them are the carefree Steve Guttenberg, the ambitious Kim Cattrall, and a host of other misfits including Bubba Smith, Donovan Scott, Andrew Rubin, David Graf, Leslie Easterbrook, and the phenomenally vocal Michael Winslow. They find a kindly mentor in the supportive Commandant Lassard, played by George Gaynes. However, their training is constantly sabotaged by the disdainful and antagonistic Lieutenant Harris, portrayed by G.W. Bailey, who is determined to see these new recruits fail. The film chronicles the recruits' uproarious struggles through training as they band together to prove themselves, culminating in a chaotic city-wide emergency where they must finally put their unorthodox skills to the test.
