After the explosive events of the first film, the ragtag animals of Liberty Park think they have found paradise in their cozy, nut-filled mall. But their easy life is shattered when the mall is destroyed, forcing them back into the wilds of the park. Their scheming leader, the self-serving squirrel Surly, voiced by Will Arnett, and his loyal friend Buddy, would prefer to find another warehouse to raid. However, the idealistic Andie, brought to life by Katherine Heigl, believes this is a chance for their community to return to a natural, free life. Their newfound freedom is immediately threatened by the greedy Mayor of Oakton, a villainous politician portrayed by Bobby Cannavale, who plans to bulldoze Liberty Park to build a dangerous, trash-spewing amusement park called Funland. Teaming up with a fearless pug named Precious, voiced by Maya Rudolph, and a mysterious martial arts expert mouse named Mr. Feng, played by Jackie Chan, Surly must reluctantly become a hero and lead his animal friends in a hilarious and daring rebellion to save their home. This vibrant animated comedy, directed by Cal Brunker, delivers non-stop laughs and wild action as a tiny band of critters takes on the full might of human corruption to prove that nature, and friendship, are worth fighting for.
