In the raucous and irreverent world of Adam Rifkin's prehistoric comedy, a lovable but hapless caveman named Ish is hopelessly out of step with his tribe. While his aggressive father, played by David Carradine, and brutish brother, Tom Arnold, excel at clubbing things, Ish dreams of a more civilized life and yearns for the beautiful Fardart, portrayed by Ali Larter. His quest for love and a better way of living launches him on a wild, absurd journey through a primitive landscape filled with bizarre characters, including a philosophical shaman and various lowbrow threats. As Ish clumsily invents revolutionary concepts like art, monogamy, and standing up for himself, he must navigate the perils of a world not ready for his progressive ideas. This R-rated stone-age satire, featuring a game cast including Talia Shire and Ron Jeremy, delivers a barrage of crude humor and clever anachronisms, chronicling one man’s epic struggle to evolve before his time.
