In the near future, a mysterious alien infestation has led to the creation of a vast "Infected Zone" along the border between Mexico and the United States. Six years after a NASA probe crashed in Central America, scattering extraterrestrial life forms, this quarantined area has become a treacherous no-man's land. The film follows an American journalist, played by Scoot McNairy, who is tasked with escorting his employer's daughter, portrayed by Whitney Able, safely through this dangerous territory and back to the safety of the U.S. border. Their perilous journey through the ravaged landscape forces them to rely on each other for survival, confronting not only the monstrous creatures that now inhabit the zone but also the crumbling remnants of human society. Directed and written by Gareth Edwards, this atmospheric sci-fi thriller explores themes of connection and survival under extreme duress, all while building tension through its immersive visuals and grounded performances.
