A successful lawyer’s quiet life is upended when his estranged, free-spirited brother arrives for an unexpected visit with a very unusual vacation itinerary. Jay Duplass stars as Nick, a family man who has built a stable, conventional life, only to be pulled into the orbit of his drifting sibling Conrad, played by Linas Phillips. Conrad’s idea of bonding is a macabre tour of sites connected to the infamous Manson Family murders, a fascination that both baffles and disturbs his more straight-laced brother. As the two embark on this darkly comic road trip, their journey becomes a poignant exploration of brotherhood, obsession, and the very different paths they’ve chosen in life. Directed by J. Davis, this unique blend of comedy and drama navigates uneasy family dynamics against a backdrop of true crime tourism, featuring a memorable supporting turn from Tobin Bell. The film deftly balances awkward humor with genuine emotional weight as the brothers are forced to confront their past and the unsettling allure of America’s most notorious crime scenes.
