In this heartwarming comedy directed by Tim Hamilton, Jon Heder stars as Jeffrey, a twenty-nine-year-old aspiring novelist still living at home with his overprotective mother, played by Diane Keaton. Their cozy, codependent existence is thrown into chaos when Jeffrey’s mother falls in love with a charming, free-spirited new man, portrayed by Jeff Daniels. Fearing he will lose his comfortable position as the center of her world, Jeffrey launches a campaign of sabotage to break up the budding romance. With the help of his sarcastic best friend, played by Anna Faris, and his equally quirky sister, played by Sarah Chalke, Jeffrey devises increasingly desperate and hilarious schemes. However, his plans backfire in unexpected ways, forcing him to confront his own immaturity and the true meaning of family. As the wedding day approaches, Jeffrey must decide whether to grow up or risk losing his mother forever. This PG-13 comedy balances laugh-out-loud moments with genuine heart, featuring a standout performance by the legendary Eli Wallach as Jeffrey's wise grandfather.
