The festive season turns frightful in this darkly comedic horror where a dysfunctional family's holiday cheer completely unravels. As a massive blizzard traps them together, young Max Emjay Anthony loses his Christmas spirit, an act that inadvertently summons a ancient and vengeful folkloric entity. Led by Adam Scott and Toni Collette as Max's stressed parents, the extended family—including boorish relatives played by David Koechner and Conchata Ferrell—must put aside their bickering to survive. Directed by Michael Dougherty, the film masterfully blends yuletide dread with sharp humor as the household is besieged by Krampus and his sinister helpers. They soon discover that this Christmas, they are not receiving gifts, but punishment, forcing them to confront their own failings in a nightmarish battle to reclaim their holiday and their lives.
