Returning to her decaying family home in the Louisiana bayou after a devastating accident, Jessie, portrayed by Sarah Snook, seeks solace but finds only unsettling memories and a hostile stepmother, played by Joelle Carter. Confined to a wheelchair, she discovers a series of cryptic videotapes left by her long-deceased mother that seem to hold ominous messages meant specifically for her. As Jessie delves deeper into the tapes, she is haunted by a malevolent presence that forces her to confront a dark family legacy she never knew existed. With the help of a former high school friend, Mark Webber, she must unravel the terrifying secrets buried within the swamp-bound house before the vengeful spirit claims her for good. Directed by Kevin Greutert and produced by Jason Blum, this atmospheric Southern Gothic horror builds a chilling sense of dread, where the murky past refuses to stay buried and every whisper from the marsh could be a warning or a curse.
