In I Think I Love My Wife, director and star Chris Rock brings a sharp, comedic exploration of marital boredom and temptation. The film follows Richard Cooper, a successful investment banker in a seemingly perfect marriage to the ambitious and beautiful Brenda, played by Gina Torres. Despite a comfortable life, Richard finds himself stifled by a predictable routine and a lack of intimacy. His mundane world is upended when he reconnects with Nikki Tru, an old friend portrayed by Kerry Washington, who is spontaneous, flirtatious, and everything his wife is not. As Nikki begins to appear in his life more frequently, testing his boundaries with her provocative behavior, Richard is thrust into a moral and emotional crisis. He must navigate the dangerous waters of temptation while trying to revive the passion in his own marriage, all without crossing a line that could destroy everything. This R-rated romantic comedy offers a witty, often brutally honest look at the complexities of commitment and the grass-is-greener syndrome, supported by a strong cast that includes Steve Buscemi as Richard’s cynical, womanizing friend.
