Blankets
In the brief but chilling horror film "Blankets," director Dexter Greene crafts a tense and unsettling experience that ...
In the sun-drenched, oppressive heat of a remote orchard, a group of young women seeking sisterhood and purpose find their utopian dream rotting from the inside out. Lili Reinhart leads as Vera, a charismatic but troubled soul who convinces her friends, including the idealistic Rowan (Lola Tung) and the skeptical Maya (Victoria Pedretti), to join an agricultural collective run by the enigmatic Selene (Gabrielle Union). What begins as a summer of hard work and bonding under the guidance of figures like the intense foreman (David Pinard) and other recruits (Alexandra Shipp, Emma Chamberlain) soon twists into a waking nightmare. Directed by Meredith Alloway, this chilling horror film explores the terrifying price of blind devotion as the orchard’s lush, forbidden fruits begin to exert a strange and malevolent influence, warping both the land and the minds of those who tend it. The women must confront the true nature of their sanctuary and the cult-like dynamics taking root, fighting to escape a harvest that promises not sustenance, but unspeakable horror.
