In a small Icelandic town, lifelong friends Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir dream of musical glory far beyond their local pub. Played with endearing earnestness by Will Ferrell and charming sincerity by Rachel McAdams, the duo known as Fire Saga cling to their improbable ambition of winning the Eurovision Song Contest, much to the dismay of Lars's stoic father, portrayed by Pierce Brosnan. When a bizarre twist of fate catapults them from obscurity onto the world's most flamboyant stage, they are thrust into a whirlwind of glitter, fierce competition, and eccentric pop stars, including the flamboyant Russian performer Alexander Lemtov, played by Dan Stevens.
