Venus in Fur
Based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway play by David Ives, which itself was based on Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's groun...
In the quiet, sun-dappled suburb of Hilldale, a well-meaning whirlwind of chaos named Dennis Mitchell, played by Mason Gamble, lives next door to the perpetually grumpy retiree George Wilson, portrayed by the legendary Walter Matthau. This family-friendly drama, directed by Nick Castle, captures the escalating war of nerves between a mischievous but good-hearted boy and his exasperated neighbor, who dreams only of peace and a pristine lawn. Dennis’s innocent curiosity and boundless energy constantly collide with Mr. Wilson’s orderly world, creating a series of hilarious and heartfelt domestic disasters that test the patience of everyone, including Dennis’s loving parents, played by Lea Thompson and Robert Stanton. The situation grows more perilous, however, when a sinister stranger named Switchblade Sam, brought to menacing life by Christopher Lloyd, arrives in town, threatening the entire community. As this dangerous conflict unfolds, the unlikely bond between the old man and the young menace is put to the ultimate test, blending lighthearted comedy with genuine moments of tension and warmth.
