In the animated family comedy "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel," the beloved chipmunk trio returns for a new ad...
In the bitingly satirical world of Todd Solondz, a man’s arrested development becomes a tragicomic prison in Dark Horse. Abe, played by Jordan Gelber, is a chronically unemployed man in his thirties who still lives in the shadow of his successful father, Christopher Walken, and enabling mother, Mia Farrow. His life consists of collecting toys and nurturing a simmering resentment, until a chance encounter with the equally disillusioned Miranda, portrayed by Selma Blair, sparks a desperate and awkward courtship. As Abe clumsily pursues a conventional future with her, his grandiose fantasies of success violently clash with the crushing reality of his own limitations. This cringe-inducing drama, populated by a stellar cast including Justin Bartha and Donna Murphy, masterfully explores the painful gap between aspiration and ability, crafting a portrait of delusion that is as uncomfortably funny as it is profoundly sad.
