Pure. (except it's not)
In this brief but potent short film directed by Joseph Bubb, the seemingly idyllic surface of a close-knit family begin...
Thirty years after their hit cartoon series ended, the once-famous chipmunk duo of Chip and Dale are living very different lives. The pragmatic Chip, voiced by John Mulaney, is now a struggling insurance salesman, while the more freewheeling Dale, voiced by Andy Samberg, clings to faded fame through nostalgia conventions. Their friendship fractured long ago, but they are reluctantly reunited when a former co-star mysteriously vanishes. Discovering a dangerous conspiracy that threatens cartoon characters everywhere, the estranged pair must patch up their differences and slip back into their detective personas as the Rescue Rangers. This clever and hilarious hybrid-animation adventure, directed by Akiva Schaffer, blends multiple animation styles in a loving parody of the entertainment industry, sending Chip and Dale on a wild, meta-fictional caper through a world where cartoons and humans uncomfortably coexist.
