Slap Her, She's French
A French foreign exchange student, named Genevieve, comes to a small town in Texas to attend a local high school where...
In the quiet, windswept Welsh countryside, a profoundly lonely inventor named Brian, played by David Earl, fills his days creating bizarre and largely useless gadgets out of spare parts and pure whimsy. His solitary existence takes an unexpected turn when one of his experiments results in his greatest creation yet: Charles, a seven-foot-tall robot with a washing machine for a torso and an unnervingly cheerful, childlike personality, brought to life by Chris Hayward. This charmingly offbeat comedy follows the tender and hilarious bond that forms between the eccentric man and his artificial companion as they navigate simple domestic life. However, their peaceful routine is threatened when the outside world, including a suspicious neighbor and Brian’s own tentative crush on a local woman Louise Brealey, begins to intrude, forcing Brian to protect his unusual friend from those who might not understand their unique friendship. Directed by Jim Archer, the film is a heartwarming and gently humorous tale of found family, celebrating the oddball connections that give life its richest meaning.
