In the cutthroat world of contemporary London's art scene, Boogie Woogie is a sharp and satirical drama that skewers the ruthless ambition and moral vacuity of those who buy, sell, and create art. The story revolves around a priceless Mondrian painting, "Boogie Woogie," which becomes the object of desire for a tangled web of characters, each driven by greed, lust, and status. Art dealer Art Spindle, played by Danny Huston, will stop at nothing to acquire the masterpiece, even if it means manipulating his way through the lives of those around him, including his naive new assistant, played by Amanda Seyfried. Meanwhile, a wealthy collector, played by Stellan Skarsgard, and his bored wife, played by Charlotte Rampling, engage in their own games of seduction and betrayal. As the characters cross paths in a series of increasingly desperate and amoral schemes, the film explores the commodification of art and the emptiness that lies beneath the glossy surface of high society. With a stellar ensemble cast including Gillian Anderson, Alan Cumming, and Christopher Lee, this provocative and stylish drama offers a darkly humorous look at the price of obsession.
