After a brief and disastrous attempt at a respectable life, the irrepressibly crude Elizabeth Halsey, played by Cameron Diaz, finds herself back where she belongs—or at least where she’s most comfortable—causing chaos in the classroom. This time, her mercenary sights are set on an even bigger prize, one that requires her to out-scheme a new, hyper-competitive teacher, portrayed by Lucy Punch, and manipulate the affections of a charming but clueless substitute, Justin Timberlake. With her loyal, long-suffering colleague Jason Segel watching her antics with a mix of horror and admiration, Elizabeth must navigate school politics, suspicious administrators like John Michael Higgins, and a fresh batch of perceptive students, including Kaitlyn Dever and Kathryn Newton. Directed by Jake Kasdan, this raucous comedy follows Elizabeth’s hilariously unorthodox journey as she proves that old bad habits die hard, especially when there’s a fortune on the line.
