Directed by Cory Finley, "Bad Education" is a darkly comedic drama based on true events. The film stars Hugh Jackman as Frank Tassone, the charismatic superintendent of a top-ranked Long Island school district whose life of luxury is funded by an elaborate embezzlement scheme. His world begins to unravel when a diligent student journalist, played by Geraldine Viswanathan, starts digging into a smaller financial discrepancy and uncovers a trail that leads to the heart of the administration. The supporting cast includes Allison Janney as a school administrator involved in the fraud, Ray Romano as a conflicted school board member, and Alex Wolff as a student drawn into the scandal. As the investigation intensifies, the facade of academic excellence crumbles, revealing a culture of corruption where the pursuit of prestige has justified a multi-million dollar theft. Written by Mike Makowsky and produced by Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Eddie Vaisman, Julia Lebedev, and Oren Moverman, this 103-minute film explores themes of ambition, deception, and the shocking breach of public trust.
