After the chaotic events of “Are We There Yet?,” Nick Persons (Ice Cube) has settled into suburban life with his new wife Suzanne (Nia Long) and her two children, Lindsey (Aleisha Allen) and Kevin (Philip Bolden). Eager to provide his growing family with more space, Nick purchases a fixer-upper home in the countryside, envisioning a peaceful haven. However, his dream quickly turns into a nightmare when he meets the eccentric and overly enthusiastic contractor, Chuck Mitchell Jr. (John C. McGinley), whose relentless “improvements” transform the simple renovation into a series of escalating, slapstick disasters. As Nick struggles to balance his demanding job, the chaos of construction, and the ever-present tension with his stepchildren, he must learn that a true home is built on patience and love, not just bricks and nails. This family comedy from director Steve Carr delivers a lighthearted, laugh-filled look at the trials of homeownership and blended family life.
