In the 1950s-inspired sci-fi comedy Alien Trespass, director R.W. Goodwin crafts a loving homage to the classic B-movies of yesteryear. The story begins in the small desert town of Mojave, California, where astronomer Ted Lewis (played by Eric McCormack) is more concerned with his failing marriage to his wife Lana (portrayed by Jody Thompson) than with the stars. His mundane life is shattered when a flying saucer crash-lands nearby, releasing a harmless, one-eyed alien named Urp, who seeks help to repair his ship. However, a dangerous, shape-shifting creature known as the Ghota escapes from the wreckage and begins terrorizing the town, growing larger and more menacing with each victim it absorbs. Ted is reluctantly recruited by the alien to stop the Ghota, but his efforts are complicated by the suspicious local sheriff (played by Dan Lauria) and a nosy government agent (brought to life by Robert Patrick). With its retro visual effects, earnest performances, and playful tone, the film balances campy humor with genuine suspense, inviting viewers on a nostalgic ride through atomic-age paranoia and intergalactic chaos.
