Vidyut Jammwal, born Vidyut Dev Singh Jammwal on December 10, 1980, is an Indian actor and martial artist who has carved a distinct niche for himself in the Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu film industries through his extraordinary physical prowess and dedication to the ancient martial art of Kalaripayattu. A recipient of major accolades including a Stardust Award, FICCI Frames Award, Filmfare Award, and IIFA Award, he has been consistently recognized not only for his on-screen action but also for his physique, ranking in The Times of India's list of India's Top 10 Most Desirable Men in 2012 and 2013 and being named among Men's Health's Top 5 Fittest Men in 2012. People Magazine India also included him in its list of The Sexiest Men Alive in 2012.

Jammwal made his acting debut in the Telugu film Sakthi in 2011, followed by his first Hindi film appearance later that same year in Force, where he played a negative role. He quickly established himself as a formidable screen presence in villainous parts, appearing in the Tamil films Billa II in 2012 and the blockbuster Thuppakki in 2012, both of which showcased his martial arts skills alongside leading actors. His breakthrough as a leading man came with the martial arts film Commando in 2013, which was specifically designed to highlight his Kalaripayattu training and established him as a unique action hero in Bollywood. He continued his Tamil film run with Anjaan in 2014.

The success of Commando spawned a franchise, and Jammwal returned to the role in Commando 2 in 2017 and Commando 3 in 2019, solidifying his reputation as one of India's most bankable action stars. He also appeared in the ensemble heist film Baadshaho in 2017, alongside Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi. His later Hindi projects included the period drama Yaara in 2020 and the action thriller Sanak in 2021. Beyond his film work, Jammwal is a dedicated practitioner of Kalaripayattu, one of the oldest martial arts in the world, and is known for performing his own stunts. He is set to make his Hollywood debut in the highly anticipated film Street Fighter in 2026, where he will portray the iconic character Dhalsim, bringing his unique skill set to an international audience and further expanding his global reach.
