Formed in the fall of 1998 at the University of Miami, the band was anchored by its namesake, lead vocalist and pianist Gabe Dixon, alongside bassist Winston Harrison and drummer Jano Rix. Their breakthrough came with the release of their self-titled major label debut album in 2002 on Reprise Records. Following the band's dissolution, Gabe Dixon embarked on a successful solo career, releasing albums and collaborating with artists like Paul McCartney, Logan Ledger, and Suzy Bogguss. Winston Harrison and Jano Rix also remained active in the music industry, with Rix notably joining the band The Wood Brothers.
