Formed in 2006, the group consisted of Israeli-born singer-songwriter Nili Hadida and French guitarist Benjamin Cotto, who together crafted a sound that blended folk introspection with pop sensibility and electronic textures. This breakthrough led to performances on major global stages and a nomination for a Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical in 2015.

Following this whirlwind of success, the duo returned with their third studio album, "Shadows," in 2015. The album showcased a continued evolution of their sound, maintaining their organic core while incorporating more pronounced electronic elements. Despite their global hit being a dance remix, Lilly Wood & The Prick remained fundamentally a songwriting duo focused on crafting intimate, guitar-driven songs. After a period of activity, the duo entered an indefinite hiatus, with both Nili Hadida and Benjamin Cotto pursuing individual musical projects.
