Jamie Dornan used to participate in the drama department in his college before deciding to pursue a professional acting career. He made his acting debut in the 2006 film "Marie Antoinette" as Axel von Fersen. Afterwards, he starred in "Beyond the Rave" and "Shadows in the Sun" in addition to short films "Nice to Meet You", "X Returns", and "The Black Widow".

It was his 2014 erotic romantic drama feature "Fifty Shades of Grey" that catapulted him to worldwide stardom. He portrayed the leading male character Christian Grey opposite Dakota Johnson's Anastasia Steele. Next, he could be seen appearing in "Untitled John Wells project" and "The 9th Life of Louis Drax", both films were released in 2015.

On TV, Dornan was best known for her main parts as The Huntsman/Sheriff Graham Humbert on "Once Upon a Time" and Paul Spector on "The Fall", for which he was nominated for British Academy Television Award for Best Actor.

Acting aside, Dornan was much publicized for his love life with then girlfriend, actress Keira Knightley. They dated from 2003 to 2005. He then married English actress and singer-songwriter Amelia Warner on April 27, 2013. The couple welcomed a daughter in November the same year.
