Chris Hemsworth Biography

Just like his brother Liam Hemsworth, Chris Hemsworth also kicked off his acting career with guest roles in local TV series. He first guest starred in soap opera "Home and Away" from 2004 to 2007 as Kim Hyde after unsuccessfully auditioned for the role of Robbie Hunter. In between times, he participated on the fifth season of "Dancing with the Stars Australia" and became the fifth contestant to be eliminated from the show. In 2009, the hunk appeared in big screen film "Star Trek" as George Kirk, a role that led him to subsequent appearances in thriller "A Perfect Getaway" and "Ca$h".

2010 saw Chris' star shone bright in Hollywood showbiz after he starred as the title character in Marvel Studios film "Thor". The performance properly led him to broader opportunity as he was next signed to reprise his role in "The Avengers", for which he won an MTV Movie Award for Best Fight. Both superhero films were box office success, earning the hunk more big screen proposals, including in horror film "The Cabin in the Woods", "Snow White & the Huntsman", and "Red Dawn".

Successfully elevated his career few notches higher, Chris was again approached to act in the next installments of "Thor" films franchise; "Thor: The Dark World" (2013) and "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (2015). In between times, he also starred in "Rush", "Blackhat", and "In the Heart of the Sea".

In line with his successful acting career, Chris also has a happy family with wife Elsa Pataky. He first knew the Spanish actress in early 2010 and married her in December that same year. The celebrity couple have three children together; daughter India Rose and twin sons Tristan and Sasha. The middle of the Hemsworth brothers was born on August 11, 1983.
