Barenaked Ladies, a prominent Canadian rock band, was formed in 1988 in the Toronto suburb of Scarborough, Ontario. Originally known as Three Guys From Barrie, the group gained a dedicated following in Canada during the early 1990s, thanks to their unique blend of alternative rock, pop, and folk influences. Initially formed as a duo by singer-guitarists Ed Robertson and Steven Page, the group expanded to a quintet by 1990 with the addition of brothers Jim and Andy Creeggan, along with drummer Tyler Stewart. Andy Creeggan left the band in 1995 and was succeeded by multi-instrumentalist Kevin Hearn. In 2009, Steven Page departed, which transformed the group into a quartet. Despite these changes, Barenaked Ladies has maintained a consistent output of music and lively performances.

Throughout their career, Barenaked Ladies has received numerous accolades, including several Juno Awards and two Grammy nominations, cementing their status in the music industry.
