HBO has released the first promo for their upcoming series Westworld, starring Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright and Thandie Newton. The series is based on the 1973 science fiction western film of the same name written and directed by Crichton. Crichton also wrote and directed the 1976 sequel Futureworld. The series takes place at the fictional Westworld, a theme park where visitors interact with programmed android hosts. The series follows the hosts and guests in Westworld as they explore the nature of consciousness and free will.
