The Good Guys Episode 1.09 Don't Tase Me Bro

After apprehending supposed bicycle thief Mike Smith (who actually collected the bikes as part of gambling debts from a man named Alex), Stark inadvertently shoots the suspect and his own partner with a taser gun.

Back at the station, Bailey and Smith have both recovered. Smith threatens to sue Stark, and Bailey tries to explain to Stark that being shot with a taser really hurts. Liz tells Bailey that Smith is in the witness protection and needs to be released.

A teenager caught the altercation on video and has posted it on the Internet. When crime lord Aidan O'Reilly watches the video, he notices that his associate-turned-rat Mike Sullivan is the civilian being tased. Aidan orders that a hit man named the Duke be called. The Duke vows that Sullivan is a dead man.

U.S. Marshall Justine Marino comes to the station to speak to the detectives. As Stark tries to hit on the very attractive Marino, she explains to the detectives about the syndicate they stumbled upon by tasing Mike Smith, whose testimony will put a lot of bad guys away for a long time. Marino warns the detectives that O'Reilly will stop at nothing to get at Smith -- whose real name is Mike Sullivan -- and probably already has a killer in Dallas. Meanwhile, in his hotel room, the Duke is watching the tasing video. He notices the street name that the tasing happened on, Wilton Woods.

Marino is helping Mike and his wife, Karen, pack up as the couple argue about Mike going back to booking again. Smith says he needs to run an errand to pick something up "from a guy," but Marino tells them they're leaving in 20 minutes.

With Stark being sued by the ACLU, Liz persuades him to apologize to Mike for the tasing incident. As for Bailey, who also got tased by Stark, Stark apologizes... for Bailey "screaming like a girl when I shot him with my toy plastic gun."

The detectives head to the Smiths' house. After some not-so-subtle flirting with Marino, Stark apologizes for violating Mr. Smith's Constitutional rights. Then the Duke arrives disguised as a mailman to deliver a bomb, which Stark grabs and heaves under the moving truck. As the Duke drives away, Bailey tries to shoot out his truck's tires, but to no avail: Mike and Karen are gone.

Assistant Deputy Director Gordon arrives, berating Marino for losing her witness, as well as the detectives for causing the whole mess to begin with. Bailey tells Gordon that the hit man might think his bomb worked and that Gordon should alert the media that Smith is dead, which would give the Marshalls time to find him.

Despite being taken off the case by Gordon, Marino wants to find Mike and asks the detectives to help her. Stark is now completely smitten with the U.S. Marshall, saying, "It's like I'm looking in a mirror and the hottest woman in the world is staring back at me."

O'Reilly is watching the news report confirming Smith's "death," and congratulates the Duke, who isn't sure that his plan worked. The Duke gets a call from his mother, and he informs her that he'll be home in the morning. He also has one of the officer's radios.

Mike and Karen go to try to get Mike's stash of money, which has unfortunately been stolen by his former associate Alex, who saw the false reports of Smith's demise. While arguing about what to do next, the couple are found by Marino and the detectives. Then the Duke hears the radio report that Mike is still alive.

Stark continues his unsuccessful advances toward Marino, who tells him, "I wouldn't have slept with you in your prime." The Duke is escorted into the station by two detectives for drunken misconduct. Bailey tells his fellow officers that he's the guy who tried to kill Smith.

Bailey and Liz are celebrating the detectives "breaking eve" on their case. Liz leaves, and the bartender starts teasing Bailey about being the "cop-tases-cop guy."

Marino is waiting for Stark in his trailer, and his advances have paid off because the pair become an item that night. Meanwhile, ADD Gordon is getting ready to escort the Duke to prison, when the hit man picks the lock on his handcuffs and chokes Gordon out, demanding to know where Sullivan is.

Marino is escorting the Mike and Karen to their new location. Mike wants Marino to help him get his money back from Alex. Marino's car is sideswiped by the Duke driving Gordon's SVU. Mike persuades the Duke not kill his wife or the Marshall by offering him 100,000 dollars -- the same money he wanted Marino to help him get back.

When Stark calls Marino to tell her how he truly feels about her, Marino explains the situation and wants the detectives to get Sullivan back. Inside Alex's house, the Duke is holding both men at gunpoint. The detectives arrive and despite "having love on their side," the Duke overtakes Stark and is how holding him hostage. Then Stark gets Bailey to implement a wild plan: Bailey drops his gun, grabs his taser, and shoots Stark, effectively tasering both Stark and the Duke. Finally realizing how much getting tased hurts, Stark apologizes to Bailey.

Marino meets up with the detectives as the Duke is being carried away. Thanks to the Duke, the FBI is able to finally arrest Aidan O'Reilly. Elsewhere, Sullivan "pleads the Fifth" to an ACLU lawyer about the initial tasing incident, clearing Stark of any wrong doing.
