The 'Water' singer, who is barely able to move in her form-fitting Balmain outfit, is seen getting lifted up the steps at the Metropolitan Museum of Art during her Met Gala debut.

AceShowbiz - Tyla has garnered mixed responses following her first appearance at the Met Gala. Making her debut at this year's fashion's biggest event, the South African singer turned heads in her sand dress that made her look like an hourglass.
Inspired by "the sands of time" as she said on the red carpet, the "Water" songstress wore a form-fitting Balmain outfit that perfectly hugged her figure. The dress, which was literally covered with sand, was paired with a matching purse shaped like a literal hourglass.
Balmain's creative director Olive Rousteing explained to Vogue that the "idea of sculpting a garment from something as ephemeral as sand ignited my imagination and I could not be happier with the end result."
Her jaw-dropping dress, however, came with a downside as Tyla was barely able to move in it. She needed a helping hand from a handful of Met Gala employees to navigate her way on the red carpet. As seen in a video circulating online, she was seen being lifted up parts of the staircase by a male employee, while others carried the train.
Upon seeing how taxing her look at the Met Gala was, fans dropped mixed comments on the video which was posted on Pop Faction's Instagram account. "Not worth it! Trying to hard [sic]," one person commented. Another compared Tyla to Doja Cat as writing, "Clown just like doja."
Others sang praise for the 22-year-old, with one gushing, "Omg the dress fits her skin so muchhh I loved ittt." Another raved, "Omg So beautiful," as one other added, "Stunning as alwayssss."
Meanwhile, Doja herself pulled another shocking look at the Met Gala. After arriving to the event in just a towel, she continued with the theme by rocking a wet T-shirt dress. She looked like straight out of the shower in the white see-through Vetements T-shirt dress that clung to her skin, paired with clear sky-high-platforms.
