The 'Dancing with the Stars' alum opens up about the lessons learned from her previous marriage as she reflects on being a breadwinner in the relationship.

AceShowbiz - Cheryl Burke, former "Dancing with the Stars" alum, has shared valuable lessons learned from her marriage and divorce with actor Matthew Lawrence. Speaking on the "Amy & T.J." podcast, Burke opened up about the financial dynamics of her relationship.

"I learned that you can't buy love," she said, reflecting on being the primary breadwinner. Burke acknowledged that while providing financially made her feel good, it did not necessarily improve their relationship, "I tried to not obviously, I didn't buy my ex husband, but, like, I definitely would say I was the breadwinner."

Host Amy Robach shared her own experiences, stating that a false sense of security and a potential for emasculation can result from such dynamics.

Moving forward, Burke embraces the idea of self-reliance. "I just don't know if I do," she said when asked about finding someone who takes care of her.

Burke is currently seeking a partner who values personal growth, accountability, and self-awareness. "Someone who's supportive, someone who is not confident - worth," she emphasized. "Confidence, I believe, comes from a foundation of ego."

Wishing Lawrence well in his new relationship with TLC's Chilli Thomas, Burke remains focused on her own journey. She encourages others to focus on their own self-improvement and prioritize self-love.
