The 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' hitmaker has been forced to postpone her Cardiff show due to laryngitis, as she announced she has had to reschedule her performance for a second consecutive night.

AceShowbiz - Paloma Faith, 42, has been diagnosed with laryngitis, which is caused by a virus and means she can't sing. She issued a statement via Instagram, expressing her devastation and apologizing to fans. The Cardiff show at Utilita Arena, originally scheduled for Friday, April 19, will be rescheduled for a later date.

Faith also stated that she is unsure if her show at The Brighton Centre on Saturday night, April 18, will go ahead, but is doing everything she can to be ready for the planned performance. She has been advised to rest her voice, steam, gargle, and has even had a steroid injection.

Fans were disappointed by the news but expressed their support for the singer on social media. One fan wrote, "I know this is the last thing you want to have to do, but looking after yourself has to come first."

This cancellation comes after Paloma had to reschedule her London show at the Eventim Apollo just a day earlier. She revealed that she has been diagnosed with laryngitis and is physically unable to sing. Faith praised the tour so far, saying it has been one of the greatest experiences of her career, and acknowledged fans who traveled far distances for the shows.

Paloma also shared that she is considering leaving the music industry to focus on other endeavors, such as teaching. She is weighing her options and may release one more album before making a career change.

Laryngitis is a condition where the voice box or vocal chords become inflamed. It usually clears up within a fortnight without medical treatment. Symptoms include a hoarse voice, loss of voice, an irritating cough, a sore throat, and the need to constantly clear the throat.

Patients are advised to rest their voices, drink plenty of water, and gargle with warm salt water. They should avoid alcohol and caffeine, as these dehydrate the body. Over-the-counter medications like paracetamol can help with high temperatures.

If laryngitis persists or becomes painful or difficult to swallow, it is advisable to consult a GP.
