The two stars on 'The Kardashians' celebrate the opening of the Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health, which will provide resources for research in esophageal health.

AceShowbiz - On April 16, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and their family gathered at UCLA to celebrate the opening of the Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health. The center is named in honor of their late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., who died from esophageal cancer in 2003.

"So proud to announce the Robert G Kardashian center for esophageal health being launched at UCLA," Kim tweeted. "My wish is that other families can have more information and we can also focus on health and prevention."

Khloe shared details about the center's mission, explaining that it will provide resources for groundbreaking research, patient care, and education in esophageal health. "The naming of the center and its dedicated specialty services will assist in advancing UCLA's position at the forefront of the world for the study and treatment of esophageal and other GI disorders," she wrote on Instagram.

Kim and Khloe both expressed their gratitude to Dr. Eric Esrailian, a UCLA professor who helped their family establish the center. "We have been planning this for a year now and I am so proud," Kim said in a video shared on Twitter.

The sisters also shared their personal connection to esophageal cancer. "My dad died in 2003; I was 19," Kim said in a previous interview. "When it set in, I was like ... you spiral. And for me, my spiral was food."

The Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health is a testament to the Kardashian family's dedication to honoring their father's legacy and making a difference in the fight against esophageal cancer.
