Marvel's First 'Fantastic Four' Movie Assembles Full Team

After months-long speculation about who will be starring in the upcoming reboot, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach are now confirmed as the main cast of the film.

AceShowbiz - Marvel Studios is treating fans to big news on Valentine's Day. On Wednesday, February 14, the studio announced the cast of its upcoming "The Fantastic Four (2025)" movie through its social media page.

"The Last of Us" star Pedro Pascal is cast as Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic. "The Crown" alum Vanessa Kirby is set to portray Sue Storm a.k.a. the Invisible Woman. "Stranger Things" star Joseph Quinn is tapped to play Johnny Storm a.k.a. Human Torch, and "The Bear" star Ebon Moss-Bachrach is cast as Ben Grimm a.k.a. the Thing.

A post uploaded on the studio's Instagram account features an animated retro image of the cast in the Fantastic Four costumes. The foursome is hanging in a room decked in Valentine's Day decorations, with a picture of Moss-Bachrach in an astronaut suit hanging on the wall to show his face prior to his character's transformation.

"Happy Valentine's Day from Marvel's First Family! Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn are The Fantastic Four," read a caption accompanying the picture. The studio additionally announced the release date of the movie, writing, "Marvel Studios' #TheFantasticFour, in theaters July 25, 2025."

The official cast announcement ended months-long speculation about who will be starring in the "Fantastic Four" reboot. Matt Smith and Adam Driver were previously reported in the running for the lead role of Mr. Fantastic, before Pascal occurred as a frontrunner in November 2023.

Mr. Fantastic was previously portrayed by Ioan Gruffudd in "Fantastic Four" (2005) and its sequel "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" (2007), and Miles Teller in the 2015 tanked reboot, "The Fantastic Four". While this will be the first "Fantastic Four" movie set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mr. Fantastic has actually appeared in MCU with John Krasinski making a cameo as an alternate universe version of Reed Richards in 2022's "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" before he's ripped to shreds by Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).

"WandaVision" director Matt Shakman has been attached to helm the movie after Jon Watts left the project in 2022.
