The 'A Walk to Remember' actress reflects on her past marriage to the rocker as she reveals the influence of her parents' relationship on her decision to tie the knot with him.

AceShowbiz - Mandy Moore has talked about her past marriage to Ryan Adams years following their split. Nearly one decade after calling it quits with the rocker, the former "This Is Us" star blamed their marriage for her being in an "isolated place."

On Jesse Tyler Ferguson's "Dinner's On Me" podcast, the 39-year-old actress/songwriter reflected on how her own parents' relationship influenced her to tie the knot with her first husband. In the Monday, February 6 episode, she said, "I think it was like, a direct response to my own parents splitting up and they had been together obviously since they were like 16 or something."

Mandy went on to say, "And I was so heartbroken and I believe that I found myself in a relationship with somebody that I was like, 'Oh, I can make a family with this person for this person.' " She then admitted, "And it just was obviously not the right situation by any means."

The "A Walk to Remember" actress explained, "But I also think it happened at a time where I was like, 'I am ready to power everything down.' " She went on to say that she thought it was "a perfectly appropriate time to get married and focus on this very personal, quiet chapter in my life and ultimately like, it just left me in a really hollow, empty, isolated place."

Mandy further reflected, "It's so weird because I think back to that chapter and it almost feels like it was someone else entirely that it happened to." On the reason why, she stated, "Because I'm in such a different place in my life, and I'm married and I have children." She continued, "And it's almost like, 'How did I ever do that? How did I ever find myself in that place where I allowed myself to be treated that way that I viewed myself that way?' "

The voice actress of "Tangled" tied the knot with Ryan back in 2009 before calling it quits in 2015 and finalizing divorce in 2016. Years later, she found a new love. She married her new-husband Taylor Goldsmith in 2018. The couple shares 2-year-old son August "Gus" Harrison and 15-month-old son Oscar "Ozzie" Bennett Goldsmith together.
