AceShowbiz - Ludacris' life is about to be adapted into a TV show. According to a new report, the 46-year-old rapper is developing a dramedy on BET Plus about his early days as a radio DJ when he was going the name DJ Chris Lova Lova.
The Hollywood Reporter shares that the untitled dramedy is inspired by the musician's "experience coming up in the competitive music scene in Atlanta as DJ Chris Lova Lova." The description continues, "The series follows the misadventures of a sharply drawn ensemble who are willing to do anything and everything to bolster ratings at their hip hop radio station."
The planned series, which is currently in the development stage, has tapped "Insecure" co-creator Larry Wilmore to executive produce alongside Ludacris, who is also on board as an exec producer and music supervisor. Meanwhile, Noah Gardenswartz ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel") will write the script and exec produce.
Ludacris additionally took to his Instagram account to share the exciting news. Alongside a screenshot of an article of his project, the "2 Fast 2 Furious" actor wrote in the caption, "Inspired By My Real Life Journey Coming Up In The Competitive Music Scene In Atlanta as Radio Personality Chris Lova Lova. Stay tuned."
Fans were totally excited for the upcoming show. "Dope! Can't wait for this one!!" one said in the comments section. Echoing the sentiment, one other added, "Damn this should be good!"
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also showed support by leaving clapping hands and a glass of beer emojis. La La Anthony, meanwhile, commented, "This!!!!" alongside several fire emojis.
The new series will not be the only TV venture for Ludacris. The "Act a Fool" rapper will join the second season of Netflix's "Rhythm + Flow", serving as a judge along with DJ Khaled and Latto (Mulatto). Eminem will also make an appearance as a special guest judge.
