Celine Song's feature directorial debut is named Best Feature at the 33rd edition of the ceremony, while the French courtroom drama thriller bags two awards, including Best International Feature.

AceShowbiz - "Past Lives" and "Anatomy of a Fall" shone the brightest at the 33rd Annual Gotham Awards. Presented by the Gotham Film & Media Institute, the award show saw the two independent films as the biggest winners of the night.
Marking Celine Song's feature directorial debut, "Past Lives" successfully beat "Passages", "Reality", "Showing Up" and "A Thousand and One" to take home the coveted Best Feature award. The romantic drama earned a total of three nominations, including Breakthrough Director for Song.
"Anatomy of a Fall" led in terms of number with two wins. The French courtroom drama thriller was dubbed Best International Feature and earned another award for Best Screenplay for Justine Triet, who also directed the film, and Arthur Harari.
Outstanding Lead Performance went to Lily Gladstone for her role as Tana in "The Unknown Country". She edged out Andrew Scott ("All of Us Strangers"), Michelle Williams ("Showing Up") and Jeffrey Wright ("American Fiction") among others for the title.
Winning Outstanding Supporting Performance was Charles Melton for his role in "May December". He defeated the likes of Penelope Cruz ("Ferrari"), Jamie Foxx ("They Cloned Tyrone") and Ryan Gosling ("Barbie").
"All of Us Strangers", which led the race with four nominations, failed to bring home any trophy. Meanwhile, "Maestro", "Barbie", "Killers of the Flower Moon", "Ferrari", "Rustin" and "Air" were all honored with tribute awards.
In the TV field, "Beef" led the pack with two wins, for Outstanding Performance in a New Series and Breakthrough Television Under 40 Minutes. Another TV winner was "A Small Light", which was picked as Breakthrough Television Over 40 Minutes.
The 2023 Gotham Independent Film Awards took place at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on Monday, November 27. Natalie Portman, Penelope Cruz, Michelle Williams, Rachel McAdams, Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio and Bradley Cooper were among some Hollywood stars gracing the red carpet.
