A few months after calling it quits with his 'Summer House' castmate, the reality TV star declares that he and his then-fiancee 'had these conversations' prior to their breakup.

AceShowbiz - Carl Radke has insisted that Lindsay Hubbard was not "blindsided" by his decision to cancel their wedding. A few months after calling it quits with his "Summer House" castmate, the reality TV star claimed that he and his then-fiancee had discussed the matter prior to their breakup.

The 28-year-old Bravolebrity opened up about his split from Lindsay in a new interview while making an appearance at BravoCon, which took place in Las Vegas on Friday, November 3. Speaking to PEOPLE, he said, "I firmly don't believe she was blindsided because we've had these conversations."

Carl went on to state that the public will "pick up on and see things from the beginning" once they watch season 8 of "Summer House". He explained, "We had a really rough summer and I think people will see that. But it just shows the gravity of the situation when I really deep down felt like I needed to have a conversation with her about where we were at in our relationship and moving forward with the wedding."

During the chat, Carl also shut down speculations suggesting that he asked the series production to document the split. "I did not call production to set her up. I don't decide what is being filmed on 'Summer House'. I really don't. I just respond to what's being requested," he elaborated.

The TV personality further declared that the breakup has been "unbelievably emotionally hard for the both of us." He continued, "If there's a way I can make it all better in some capacity, I would do that. This has been harder than my brother passing away, I'm not even kidding. It's been very, very painful and emotional."

Elsewhere in the interview, Carl shared, "I've had to take some space and be quiet. This is the first time I'm talking in two months because I wanted to be respectful because it's painful for the both of us. There's still some closure and things I feel like that are gonna need to be figured out at some point. But I'm just on one day at a time. I'm just trying to just take care of myself."

In contrast, Lindsay recently said that she was "completely blindsided" by the split as Carl allegedly "never gave her a concrete reason for calling off the nuptials." She told Us Weekly on Wednesday, "He blew up my entire life. I was crying, I was angry, and I had to find closure on my own. Fortunately, she is now at a place where I feel really good about moving on."

On August 31, it was reported that Carl and Lindsay ended their engagement. "The two were set to get married in November, but Carl told Lindsay he couldn't move forward with the wedding. The breakup was filmed and will most likely play out on the next season of 'Summer House'," sources told Entertainment Tonight at the time.
