According to a new report, live-action remakes of those four animated movies could be the next to be greenlit, but the projects are still 'very much in early development.'

AceShowbiz - Disney is reportedly planning to make more live-action movies based on its successful animated movies. Following the success of such films as "Alice in Wonderland" (2010), "Beauty and the Beast (2017)" and "The Lion King (2019)", the studio has allegedly begun developing live-action remakes of its more recent animated movies.

The said animated movies that will likely get live-action treatment are "Frozen (2013)", "Tangled", "The Princess and the Frog" as well as "Tarzan (2013)". While giving the latest updates on other Disney remakes that are currently in the works, The DisInsider spilled that those four animated movies have been proposed as the next live-action remakes to be greenlit.

"There are also remakes in development for 'Princess and the Frog', 'Tangled', 'Frozen', and T'arzan'," so the outlet heard and claimed. Noting that nothing has been set in stone regarding these four potential projects, the site added, "While there have been tons of rumors floating around regarding who Disney has as their top choice for these films, sources have told us that none of that is true, and these are very much in early development."

While these four projects have not been officially announced by Disney, the studio has been working on live-action adaptations of "Snow White", "Moana" and "Lilo & Stitch". The "Snow White" live-action film has Rachel Zegler in the cast as the titular character, with Gal Gadot being tapped to portray the Evil Queen. Directed by Marc Webb from a script by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, it is set for a March 22, 2024 release.

The "Moana" remake has Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson on board as producer. He is also set to reprise his role as Maui, while Auli'i Cravalho, who voiced the titular character in the animated movie, will not reprise her role in the upcoming film, but will serve as an executive producer. Thomas Kali has been tapped as director, but casting has been postponed due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

As for the "Lilo & Stitch" remake, Chris Sanders was reported in final negotiations to voice Stitch in the upcoming live-action movie. Maia Kealoha is cast as Lilo with Billy Magnussen, Zach Galifianakis and Courtney B. Vance also set to star.
