Michael Douglas Mourns Death of 'Wonderful' Co-Star Alan Arkin After He Died at 89

The 78-year-old Hollywood star, who acted alongside Alan on the Netflix sitcom 'The Kominsky Method', honors his late co-star by sharing a photo of the two on Instagram.

AceShowbiz - Michael Douglas has sadly lost one of his co-stars, Alan Arkin. Upon learning of Alan's death on Friday, June 30, the "Fatal Attraction" actor paid a touching tribute to his "wonderful" friend on social media.

The 78-year-old, who acted with Alan on the Netflix sitcom "The Kominsky Method", honored his late pal by sharing a photo of the two on Instagram. "Today we lost a wonderful actor whose intelligence, sense of comedy and consummate professionalism over the past 70 years has left an indelible mark on our industry," he began his caption.

"My experience of working with Alan were some of my most memorable. He will be deeply missed," the husband of Catherine Zeta-Jones continued. "Sincere condolences to his wife, Suzanne, and his family."

Alan passed away at the age of 89. Confirming his death were his sons Adam, Matthew and Anthony, who shared a statement to PEOPLE, "Our father was a uniquely talented force of nature, both as an artist and a man. A loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather, he was adored and will be deeply missed."

Michael won Best Actor - Television Series Musical or Comedy at the 2019 Golden Globes for his work on the "The Kominsky Method". As for Alan, who starred as Norman Newlander, he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor - Television Series Musical or Comedy. The two actors also scored nominations at the 2019 and 2020 Emmy Awards for their work on the series.

Aside from the accolades, Alan won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor thanks to his work in "Little Miss Sunshine". The late star played Edwin Hoover, the grandfather of the dysfunctional family, in the 2006 flick.
