AceShowbiz - Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin have a "great relationship" now compared to the time when they were still married. The "One Tree Hill" alum claimed she and her ex-husband have had "more respect" for each other following their divorce.
The 39-year-old opened up about that matter in a Sunday, June 4 episode of her "Whine Down" podcast. "[Mike] and I have a great relationship, you know, everything is good," she said.
"When stuff does come up, we're like, 'Hey, can we kind of talk this out?' We still have our moments where we get frustrated but we're able to communicate in such better way now, so that's been nice," she continued. "We've had more respect out of our marriage than in our marriage."
Jana and Mike called it quits in April 2021 after nearly six years of marriage. The pair, who share 7-year-old daughter Jolie and 4-year-old son Jace together, split due to the former NFL star's repeated infidelity. They finalized their divorce in July of that year.
Jana has since moved on with Allan Russell. They got engaged in May, with Jana announcing the happy news by showing off her new ring on social media.
On May 25, Jana unleashed some sweet pictures of her with her now-fiance. In the said image, Jana put the new sparkle on display while cuddling up to her children. Her new man, meanwhile, sat down in front of them as he snapped the camera.
Jana opened up more about her engagement on her "Whine Down" podcast. "So, Allan and I have been dating for … six and a half months," she told listeners. "And he asked me to marry him!"
Jana went on to detail the romantic proposal, which took place at her new home. "It was a really beautiful night and me and the kids were sitting on the front porch steps and looking out at the view," she explained.
"He said my name and I got up and then he got down on one knee," she continued. "And then Jolie just started jumping up and down … it was the cutest thing ever. It's like, she knew what was happening."
