The network announces that Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan will be the new 'Good Morning America 3' co-anchors following Amy and T.J.'s exit amid their affair scandal.

AceShowbiz - ABC has officially introduced the replacement for Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes. On Thursday, May 11, the network announced that Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan will be the new "Good Morning America 3" co-anchors following Amy and T.J.'s exit amid their affair scandal.
"Allow us to reintroduce ourselves," the official Instagram account of "GMA3: What You Need to Know" wrote. "Join us in welcoming @evapilgrim and @demarcomorgan as co-anchors of #GMA3, along with @drjashton as chief health and medical correspondent."
"I am incredibly proud of the reporting Eva, DeMarco and Gio have brought to ABC News. They join their colleagues Whit, Janai and Dr. Jen whose steadfast commitment to bold, straightforward journalism has been integral to their respective programs' success," ABC News President Kim Godwin said in the note, shared in a statement to USA TODAY.
Eva has worked for ABC News since 2015 as a New York correspondent and the co-anchor of "Good Morning America" on Saturday and Sunday since 2018. Morgan, meanwhile, is newer to the news outlet, joining in 2022 as a Los Angeles correspondent. Journalist Gio Benitez has been tapped to take over Eva's spot on "GMA" weekend broadcasts.
The new co-host announcement comes five months after Amy and T.J. were officially ousted from the afternoon news program following their alleged affair. "After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, about different options, we all agreed it's best for everyone that they move on from ABC News," an ABC spokesperson said in a statement back in January. "We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions."
It was reported that Amy and T.J. have split from their respective spouse before they started dating. "This was two consenting adults who were separated," a source told PEOPLE in December 2022. "They both broke up with their spouses in August, within weeks of each other. The relationship didn't start until after that."
Following the firing, the couple doesn't seem to try to hide their romance. They took a vacay to Mexico in February before joining the New York City Half Marathon together on March 19. More recently, the two were snapped holding hands in New York City in April.
