The 29-year-old actor took to Instagram to show off his brand new look for his role in the upcoming biopic about P.T. Barnum.

AceShowbiz - Zac Efron is on board to play a character named Phillip in upcoming biopic about P.T. Barnum called "The Greatest Showman", but details about his character are still kept under wraps. To prepare for his role, the 29-year-old actor gets a proper trimming of his sideburns.

Debuting his new look, Zac took to Instagram on Thursday, January 5 to share with his over 24 million followers a picture of him sporting clean-cut sideburns. "Just got a cut for my new role. You know that 'oh - there I am!' feeling? Well, I got lost in it," he wrote in the caption.

Directed by Michael Gracey, the biopic centers on P.T. Barnum, a showman with a penchant for hoaxing a gullible public as he creates the three-ring circus that made him famous. The film also focuses on his infatuation with singer Jenny Lind, the so-called Swedish Nightingale.

Set to arrive in U.S. theaters this year on December 25, "The Greatest Showman" stars Hugh Jackman as the titular character. It also stars Michelle Williams as Barnum's wife Charity and Rebecca Ferguson (II) as Jenny Lind, a singer whose tour's promoted by Barnum.
